Coaching
Philosophy (PYSA)
The coaching philosophy of Pentucket Youth soccer (PYSA) is to
promote fun, sportsmanship, and development of soccer skills in
a team environment. Thank you for your commitment and please use
the following as a guideline.
Coaches serve as role models both for the children and their parents.
Let us teach our children respect for authority, courtesy and to
play the game with dignity and good sportsmanship. Focus the
practices on having fun while learning the game. We all know
endless drills while important without scrimmaging or game simulation
make for a long practice session. Be tolerant of mistakes in
both practice and game time focusing on learning from those mistakes.
During the games each child should play a minimum of 1/2 the
game and should learn the game from as many positions as their
comfort level allows. At the end of the game congratulate the
other team and thank the referees for their participation.
Coaching can be a rewarding experience and plays a vital role in
PYSA.
